I was at the grocery store this morning and heard a loud crash and something shattering. Being nosy, I walked towards the sound and saw some people whispering and looking back to the end of the next aisle. When I walked down that aisle, I saw an older lady had hit a shelf containing dishes with her cart and many had fallen to the ground and broke. She was kneeling on the floor embarrassed, frantically picking up the shattered pieces, while her husband was peeling off the bar code from each broken dish saying “Now we will have to pay for all this!”

I felt so bad for her, and everyone was just standing there staring at her!! I went and knelt beside her and told her not to worry and started helping her pick up the broken pieces. After about a minute, the store manager came and knelt beside us and said, “Leave it, we will clean this up. Let’s get your information so you can go to the hospital and have that cut on your hand looked at.”

The lady, totally embarrassed said, “I need to pay for all this first.” The manager smiled, helped her to her feet and said, “No ma’am, we have insurance for this, you do not have to pay anything!”

For you who have read this so far, I would like you to give me a minute. Wherever you are, close your eyes, and imagine God doing the same for you!

Collect the pieces of your broken heart from all the blows life has thrown at you. God will heal all your wounds, and I assure you that your sins and mistakes will be forgiven.
You see, we all have the same insurance, and it’s called Grace. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and ask for forgiveness, the Manager of the universe, GOD, will say to you “Everything has already been paid for, now go on your way, all is forgiven!” – Joann McCartney, Paris Illinois, First Church of The Nazarene

Non-practicing Christians

Stephen Bullivant’s Jun ’18 Pew study report stated that only 22% of Germans attend church once or more per month.  There were several other nations in the European Union listed with percentages.  “For this study Pew set the minimum level of attendance at once per month to be a practicing Christian.”  Only once per month?  I wonder what God thinks about that.  “The 46% of Europeans who identify as non-practicing Christians is significant not only because their numbers continue to grow compared to practicing Christians, but because they hold beliefs that stand in stark contrast to orthodox Christianity.”  Among other things, because they no longer believe in the God of the Bible, they are “Declaring belief in some numinous spiritual force that fits the imagined belief of what they would like God to be, they most often reject the stories, events, lessons, and message of the Bible.  They are overwhelmingly in support of gay marriage and abortion at a far higher rate than practicing Christians, two issues that set them at odds with traditional Christian values.”

Mr. Bullivant also points out, in many European countries “religiosity is no longer seen as normal or natural.  “Non-practicing Christians is an oxymoron but was used to be able to conduct the study.” – Stephen Bullivant

WHoly Christian

To hit a mark we must know where it is.

There was a blind beggar known to us as Bartimeus who cried out one day for “mercy” but “mercy” was too general a “prayer” for Jesus that day.  Jesus asked the man what kind of “mercy” he desired.  Now it would have been quite logical for him to have requested alms (money) but the man had already used a formal title which indicated that he believed that Jesus was no ordinary man and therefore he requested the gift of sight.  His request was granted.  It would not surprise me in the least bit to learn that there were other beggars who called out to Jesus and His disciples who only received a charitable gift of money.  “You have not because you ask not.”

There are many in this day, some twenty centuries later, who fail to attain to a deeper faith because they do not know to seek and request.  Like Bartimeus we are surrounded by those who try to tell us to just be quiet and not disturb the status quo.

There is a point of grace as much above the ordinary Christian as the ordinary Christian is above the world.  …their place is with the eagle in his eyrie (nest), high aloft.  They are rejoicing Christians, holy and devout men doing service for the Master all over the world, and everywhere conquerors through Him that loved them. – C. H. Spurgeon

The experience to which Spurgeon refers has been describe as the higher life, deeper faith, entire sanctification, Christian perfection, perfect love, the rest of faith as well as a few other positive terms.  “Ultimate Sanctification” is an illegitimate negative term applied by a certain person who is strangely antagonistic yet who occasionally comes within a hair’s-breadth of wholeheartedly promoting it.  I’m sure that if he could just see it with unprejudiced eyes he would embrace it instead of running from it.  However, the terminology is not as important as the possessing of, and walking in, the experience.

College Campus Core Cognitive Distortion

Vice President Mike Pence is supposed to speak at the Notre Dame Commencement and while most of the students consider it a high honor there are a few “snowflakes” on the campus who claim it makes them feel “unsafe.”

Actually the problem the intersectionalist snowflakes have is the core cognitive distortions, among which is (1) Socialism good, America bad. (2) Anything that challenges what our left-wing college professors have drummed into our heads since we arrived on Campus has to be wrong because our beloved professors are always right and the conservative professor is a weak-minded bigot. (3) Christianity oppressive, Moslem poor victim. (4) Trump fascist, me freethinker.

It will take many years in the real world for the fascistic intersectionalist snowflakes to shake off those cognitive distortions that they have been indoctrinated into but that will only happen when they find the courage to actually begin to think for themselves rather than their “feelings.”
