Tennessee State Representative Justin Pearson just did what Democrats whenever  their side gets in trouble,

He reached for the biggest, ugliest accusation in the bag and threw it at half the country.

Here is what he said.

“This new MAGA movement, it is an iteration of the Klan. It has mainstreamed racism, it has mainstreamed white supremacy, it has mainstreamed bigotry, homophobia, transphobia. It has mainstreamed all the worst of who we are as a country.”

Take a breath after that one, because you are going to need it.

What Pearson is really upset about is not the Klan, an organization founded, run, and defended by his own party for a hundred years.

He is upset because Tennessee is redrawing its map, the state’s last majority-Black safe district may not survive, and without those carefully carved seats the Democrat bench in red states starts looking very, very thin.

That is the whole game. Strip away the safe districts and the slogans and the screaming, and you are left with a party that cannot win arguments on the merits.

They want open borders. Most Americans do not.

They want boys in girls’ sports. Most Americans do not.

They want higher taxes, weaker police, softer prosecutors, and a federal government that grows bigger every single year. Most Americans do not.

So when the policy door slams shut, the racism door swings open. Klan, white supremacy, Jim Crow, all of it deployed on cue, every cycle, like clockwork.

The truth is simpler than Pearson wants to admit.

America is, and has always been, a center right country. Voters keep telling Democrats that at the ballot box, and Democrats keep responding by calling those voters bigots.

That is not a movement. That is a tantrum.
