So we’ve got these Hurricanes – Mario and Luigi. Okay the weather service calls them something else but the better names seem to be Mario and Luigi. I refuse to call them Marco and Polo, for obvious (to me) reasons.

Okay, for anyone who is not sure why; Marco and Polo implies and almost endless repetition and I am in a “one and done” mindset with a two hurricanes in the gulf at, or nearly at, the same time.
So Mario, was originally targeting Houston. Then he jumped to targeting Dallas, probably because he wasn’t sure where Austin is at. Then New Orleans. Then Monday morning it looks like he decided to take the route of brushing New Orleans and staying at sea to maintain his power bits for a swing slightly north of Houston. Then its anybody’s guess whether he makes a run for Austin or Dallas.
Round two will be Luigi who appears to be playing clean-up by splitting the difference by going between New Orleans and Dallas then heading North to Arkansas. Does he have relatives up there? I ask that because he appears to be taking a trip thru Cuba to pick up some cigars and stuff before making tracks to Arkansas and then staggering off towards Tennessee for a nap or something.
25 Aug, 9:30 am – Now Mario has weakened to only being a Low. He is limping toward Houston over the water, trying to pick up energy from warm water. Luigi is entering the Gulf and some are claiming he’ll find enough energy to build up to a cat 3 or 4 before he gets to Buc-ees at Beaumont, TX but I have my serious doubts about that.
27 Aug, 8 am – Luigi made landfall last night just east of the Texas border and is currently headed for Arkansas for some shine after which he will stagger towards Kentucky to sleep it off.
