Alligators in the Swamp

A ship is built in one element but designed and destined to have its life in another and that is an image of the soul.  It is formed and fashioned with many a hammer-stroke in this life but finds its true element when it sails out into the ocean of eternity.  We are, after all, eternal beings living a temporary human existence.  It is very easy to lose sight of that fact much like when you are up to your armpits in alligators it becomes difficult to remember that your original goal was to drain the swamp.

When you get into a tight place, and everything goes against you till it seems as if you could n't hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that 's just the place and time that the tide 'll turn. If you live your life and don’t confess your sins to God Almighty through the authority of Christ and His blood, I’m going to say this very plainly, you’re going straight to hell with a nonstop ticket. – John Hagee

I wrote what I did because as a woman, as a mother, I was oppressed and broken-hearted with the sorrows and injustice I saw, because as a Christian I felt the dishonor to Christianity – because as a lover of my county, I trembled at the coming day of wrath. – Harriet Beecher Stowe
