Condition of Man

Let us imagine a number of men in chains and all condemned to death, where some are killed each day in the sight of the others, and those who remain see their own fate in that of their fellows and wait their turn, looking at each other sorrowfully and without hope. It is an image of the condition of man. – Blaise Pascal

Christian Life

Let it not be imagined that the life of a good Christian must be a life of melancholy and gloominess; for he only resigns some pleasures to enjoy others infinitely better. – Blaise Pascal

Choose The Christ

How can anyone lose who chooses to become a Christian? If, when he dies, there turns out to be no God and his faith was in vain, he has lost nothing…If, however, there is a God and a heaven and a hell, then he has gained heaven and his skeptical friends have lost everything…  – Blaise Pascal

Man’s Fallen Condition

In this state [man’s fallen condition], the Free Will of man toward the True God is not only wounded, maimed, infirm, bent, and weakened; but it is also imprisoned, destroyed and lost. And its powers are not only debilitated and useless unless they be assisted by grace, but it has no powers whatever except such as are excited by Divine grace. – Jacobus Arminius

Christianity

Either Christianity is true or it’s false. If you bet that it’s true, and you believe in God and submit to Him, then if it IS true, you’ve gained God, heaven, and everything else. If it’s false, you’ve lost nothing, but you’ve had a good life marked by peace and the illusion that ultimately, everything makes sense. If you bet that Christianity is not true, and it’s false, you’ve lost nothing. But if you bet that it’s false, and it turns out to be true, you’ve lost everything and you get to spend eternity in hell. – Blaise Pascal

Alligators in the Swamp

A ship is built in one element but designed and destined to have its life in another and that is an image of the soul.  It is formed and fashioned with many a hammer-stroke in this life but finds its true element when it sails out into the ocean of eternity.  We are, after all, eternal beings living a temporary human existence.  It is very easy to lose sight of that fact much like when you are up to your armpits in alligators it becomes difficult to remember that your original goal was to drain the swamp.

When things seem impossible, that’s when ,God moves. Because ALL things are possible with God!!! And so many people said He wouldn’t be president! Well look what God did!!!

I wrote what I did because as a woman, as a mother, I was oppressed and broken-hearted with the sorrows and injustice I saw, because as a Christian I felt the dishonor to Christianity – because as a lover of my county, I trembled at the coming day of wrath. – Harriet Beecher Stowe
