The Aroma of Coffee and of Praising God

No coffee can be good in the mouth that does not first send a sweet offering of odor to the nostrils. – Henry Ward Beecher

Such an interesting observation.  Now I know there are a few people who do not like coffee and therefore cannot quite relate but for the majority of us as we think on the wonderful fact related to us let us also ponder a spiritual parallel.  When we offer our sacrifice of praise it is an aroma that is more pleasing to God than the wonderful aroma of fresh coffee in the morning is to us.

Now that is biblical.  It is said in a slightly different fashion in Scripture but God is thrilled by our little demonstrations of genuine love for Him.  He actually looks forward to fellowship with us.

Keep Your Eyes on the Prize

He (the devil) always sends errors into the world n pairs — pairs of [apparent] opposites.  He relies on you extra dislike of one to draw you gradually into the opposite one.  But do not let us be fooled.  We have to keep our eyes on the goal and go straight through between both errors.  We have not other concern thatn that with either of them. – C. S. Lewis

Assistance of Spiritual Beings

As no good is done, or spoken, or thought by any man without the assistance of God, working in and with those that believe in Him, so there is no evil done, or spoken, or thought without the assistance of the devil, who worketh with strong though secret power in the children of unbelief.  All the works of our evil nature are the work of the devil. – John Wesley

Ponder that for a moment – it explains a lot of what is going on in our world today, doesn’t it.  pastorwardclinton.com
