Blood Libel

The Blood Libel of Greater Israel

By Yehuda Meitav

There’s a new lie in town—an old hatred dressed in modern slogans. They call it the “Greater Israel” conspiracy, as if the Jews, having finally returned to their tiny sliver of homeland, are now plotting to conquer the region and beyond. But this accusation, like so many before it, is not about truth. It’s about projection. It’s about deflection. It’s about taking the darkest ambitions of the accuser and blaming the accused.

Let me say it simply: we are a small people, with a small country, and we’re happy with both. We never asked for empires. We don’t dream of conquest. We don’t want to rule anyone, and we’ve never asked to be bigger than what we are. The truth is, we’ve given up more land than we’ve taken. In 1979, we returned the entire Sinai Desert—over 60,000 square kilometers—to Egypt as part of the Camp David Accords, in exchange for a peace treaty that Egypt still honors to this day.

We withdrew unilaterally from Gaza in 2005—destroying 21 thriving Jewish communities and evacuating over 8,000 Israeli civilians—just to give the Palestinians a chance to build something of their own. And what did we get in return? Rockets. Terror tunnels. More hatred.

Again and again, we’ve made offers—at Camp David in 2000, at Taba in 2001, under Ehud Olmert in 2008—offering nearly 95% of the West Bank and even parts of East Jerusalem. And each time, the answer was no. Not because the borders weren’t right, but because Israel existed at all. Because behind the slogans of “occupation” and “apartheid” lies a more sinister truth: they don’t want a Palestinian state next to Israel—they want it instead of Israel.

The accusation of “Greater Israel” is not just false—it’s laughable. It has no roots in Israeli policy, no expression in Israeli society, and no support from Israeli citizens. What it does have is a long shadow of antisemitism—the same kind that once said Jews poison wells, control banks, spread disease. Today they say we want to conquer the world. Tomorrow, who knows?

But if you want to talk about expansionist dreams, look elsewhere. Look into the ideology of the Caliphate—an actual, openly stated goal in many streams of Islamic thought. Look at Dar al-Islam and Dar al-Harb—the world of Islam and the world of war. Look at the Islamic conquests that began in the 7th century and spread across the Middle East, North Africa, Spain, Persia, and parts of Europe. Look at the modern expressions: ISIS declaring a caliphate in 2014, the Muslim Brotherhood’s founding goal of global Islamic rule, and Hamas—whose charter still calls for the total destruction of Israel.

Read Hamas’s founding charter, Article 7: “The Day of Judgment will not come until Muslims fight the Jews and kill them.” That’s not fringe. That’s their constitution.

So let’s be honest: those who accuse us of imperialism are doing so to hide their own. The fantasy of “Greater Israel” is nothing but a mirror—reflecting back the ambitions of those who seek to dominate, not us. Because it’s not Jews who seek to expand—it’s those who cannot tolerate our existence.

We are not looking for more land. We are looking for more light. We don’t want your cities, your countries, your religions. We only want to live in peace in the only place we’ve ever truly called home. And even then—even in that tiny home—we’ve always been willing to share.

Because the truth is: we don’t need anything else. We have our land. We have our God. We have our Torah. That is enough.

And maybe that’s what scares them most—that a people who’ve been beaten, expelled, exiled, and burned still carry something they cannot destroy: a light that doesn’t want to conquer, only to shine.

So the next time someone tells you Israel dreams of taking over the Middle East, ask them this: who’s really dreaming of empire? And why are they so afraid of a people who only ever wanted to go home?

The World’s Common Problem

Iran has been a designated State Sponsor of Terrorism since Jan 19, 1984. That’s 42 years. When a regime trains kids to chant “Death to America,” believe it the first time.

Iran is a country with vast resources.  It was at one time a prosperous nation. But this  Iranian regime cares only about exporting Islam and destroying all other beliefs and people.  They want nuclear weapons as the key to the ultimate power.   Thank God for Donald Trump.
