God Values You

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding u a $20 bill.  in the room of 200 people he asked “Who would like this $20 bill?”  Hands started going up.

He said, “I’m going to give this bill to one of you, but first let me do this.”  He crumbled up the $20 bill.  Then he asked. “What if i do this?” He dropped it onto the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.

He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty. “Now who still wants it?” Still the hands went up in the air.

You see friends, a valuable lesson has been learned here.  No matter what he did to the money, people still wanted it because it did not decrease it’s value.  It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumbled and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and circumstances that come our way.  We feel at times as though we are worthless.

But no matter what has happened or what will happen you will never lose your value.  dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are priceless to God as one whom He truly loves.  He created you in His image, He loves you with an everlasting love.

The worth of our lives comes not in what we do but by who we are.  You are special to God.  Don’t ever forget it.  God loves you and wants to have a personal relationship with you through His Son Jesus The Christ.

Count your blessings not your problems.  Remember, if God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.  Good will either lighten your load or strengthen your back.

Pray 2nd Chronicles 7:14

When Pastor Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate over fifteen years ago, everyone was expecting the usual politically correct generalities. But, what they heard instead was a stirring prayer, passionately calling our country to repentance and righteousness.

The response was immediate and a number of legislators walked out during the prayer. In six short weeks, the Central Christian Church (USA) had logged more than 5,000 phone calls, with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. Commentator Paul Harvey aired the prayer on the radio and received a large response.

Pastor Joe’s prayer is reprinted here as an encouragement and challenge for each of us to stand for the truth of the Gospel whenever the Lord gives us the opportunity because it is even more needed.

The Prayer:

“Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and seek Your direction and guidance. We know your Word says, ‘Woe on those who call evil good,’ but that’s exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and inverted our values.

We confess that:

We ridiculed the absolute truth of your Word and called it pluralism.
We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism.
We have endorsed perversion and called it an alternative lifestyle.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have neglected the needy and called it self-preservation.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem.
We have abused power and called it political savvy.
We have coveted our neighbor’s possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, O God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Guide and bless these men and women who have been sent here by the people of Kansas, and who have been ordained by you to govern this great state. Grant them the wisdom to rule, and may their decisions direct us to the center of your will. I ask it in the name of your Son, the Living Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.” – Pastor Joe Wright

Christian, Wake up

Christians, be alert, stay alert.

My God is Holy, is yours?

If you believe in and follow an unholy God, you do not have to be concerned about being holy in your conduct.

“I sin daily in thought, word, and deed?”  …Hmm… you might want to re-examine that because the God of the Holy Bible commands that His people be holy

Romans 6:19-22

“I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death!   But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.”

  • In the Old Testament, things were sanctified. • The Tabernacle was sanctified (Exodus 40:9). “Take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and everything in it; consecrate it and all its furnishings, and it will be holy.”
  • The mountains were sanctified (Exodus 19:23). “Moses said to the LORD, ‘The people cannot come up Mount Sinai, because you yourself warned us, “Put limits around the mountain and set it apart as holy.”’”
  • The nation of Israel was sanctified (Exodus 19:10-11). “And the LORD said to Moses, ‘Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. Have them wash their clothes and be ready by the third day, because on that day the LORD will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.’”
  • First born children were sanctified (Exodus 13:2). “Consecrate to me every firstborn male. The first offspring of every womb among the Israelites belongs to me, whether man or animal.”
  • In the New Testament people were sanctified (Acts 2:1-4). 16

“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”

“If Jesus Christ is not Lord of all, He will not be Lord at all.” —R. S. Nicholson

Romans 12:1-2: “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
