Sodom and Gomorrah

When I read the details of Sodom and Gomorrah in Gods word I see many parallels to the big cities of today all over the world, and now even small towns in many areas. There is so much Corruption and Perversion in the world it looks a lot like Sodom and Gomorrah in spades. In fact what is it they call Las Vegas, sin city. But Las Vegas is not the only place where most all manner of perversions have been made legal, what is the saying ‘what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas’. And the growing appetite for perversion in the world is horrifyingly evident. And I see the sins of the world are huge.
As I read these passages I also see God’s great compassion and mercy for his creation. And his disdain for their corruptability. I see while he is not overly concerned with the carbon form of the human body, his real concern is for the spirit within. I also know from God’s word that he wants each of us to choose good over evil and work out our own salvation. As always I tell you don’t take my word for it read God’s word for yourself. Pray daily that God will give you the knowledge and understanding of his truth, God’s word is truth. Proverbs 4 all, God practically begs us and in warning to heed his word. It has been my observation that people are so caught up in self, they say “no one is going to tell me what to do or how to act.”  And that my fellow humans is exactly the thoughts of satan.  Satan wants us to believe that it’s ok to do whatever we want and there should be no consequence. But God shows us in Proverbs 4 that there is consequence to everything you do be it good or evil. For if you do right there is good consequence but if you do evil there is ill consequence. Unbridled actions is chaos.

Keep going … going

Thank you for this one, Linda…
*THE LAST FEW POUNDS*
“Whatever weight-loss plan you choose, you’re bound to lose pounds–at least for a while. But most dieters reach a plateau before they reach their goal, and many get discouraged when the thrill leaves before all the weight does. Many give up and go back to their old ways of eating.
Something similar happens in our Christian lives. When we begin our walk with Jesus, we easily shed many of the sins that have weighed us down. We give dramatic testimonies about being freed from addictive behaviors. Then the attention shifts to another new believer, and we discover that ”little” sins like jealousy, resentment, and anger don’t drop away as readily as the ”big” ones. Some of us get so discouraged that we lose sight of our commitment to Christ and go back to some of our old ways of living.
When Jesus talked about the cost of being His disciple (Luke 14:25-35), He wanted those who heard Him to realize that believing in Him and following Him involves more than starting something that is exciting. It means sticking with something that is difficult.
So whether we’re talking about weight loss or spiritual gain, the message is the same: What matters most is not how we start but how we finish.”

Are You a Child of God?

As a follower of The Christ who takes the Great Commission as a command rather than a suggestion I have encountered many people who fall into the Psalm 1:1 category of “ungodly” who make the claim “We are all children of God.”  The Scripture addresses that claim quite clearly and whild the Christ follower should use tact and wisdom in responding, the error cannot be merely ignored; unfortunately that, failure to address the intellectual misunderstanding, has happened too often to the detriment of saint and sinner alike.

Make sure you are, in fact, a child of God; your eternal destiny hangs in the balance – read the Bible and learn what it really says and attend a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching church this Sunday.  Pastorwardclinton.com
