Like Alvin Bragg in New York, the Alabama prosecutor (also a Democrat) who charged King ratcheted up a misdemeanor into a felony charge in an indictment that, like the Trump case, “was the first time in the state’s history that a defendant was so charged in such a case”.
As in the Trump case, the objective of the Democrats was to sideline Martin Luther King through lawfare.
