People Eating Mudbugs

What’s the most interesting local custom you’ve encountered?

I asked how do you eat them?

I got told, pinch the tail and suck the head.  Disturbing,  something sounds so wrong about that.

I think about the crawfish where I grew up as compared to here; we would put a hook in those things and use ’em to catch a catfish.  Now that’s some good eatin’ with less of a mess.  I mean, after folks have eaten a batch of crawfish, the cast off shells seem to make a bigger pile than what they started out with.

Out in the High Plains Desert, we didn’t have any strange culinary delights except maybe them oysters from the mountain.  There are some strange rumors about where we actually obtain that delicacy from.

Y’all have a wonderful day.

Who Am I?

What is one word that describes you?

In response to the above “Daily Prompt” that would be

Pastor

Now I am fully aware that that would trigger a lot of negative thoughts in the minds of some folk and there are others that would e somewhat ambivalent.  While still others would have positive thoughts.

Among those who have positive thoughts, many, if not most, would wonder; are you one of the good ones?  Most of those who know me would say “yes”.  I am sure there are some who would answer otherise.

I am almost always amused by social media posts that say snarkely “…and you call yourself a Pastor?”  A lot of those individuals, if they were able to spend some time with me face-to-face would soon, by their own choice and from the heart begin to call me “pastor”.  Others, on social media, have angrily made that snarky statement because their hypocrisy -or- Scriptural ignorance has been exposed.  Thereby, I have accomplished my God-given task – Comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.

There Was a Barn … Maybe

You’re writing your autobiography. What’s your opening sentence?

There was, or may have been, this strange barn in the midst of the city in which I was born.  Even my parents seemed to have been a bit unsure about it as they queried me about that barn so very many times during my childhood.

Apparently, some of my siblings may or may not have been born there as well. So many questions remain.
