Now is the time for all Christians everywhere to wake up

One of the sad realities within the local church today centers on the fact that numerous born-again Christians have little or no knowledge of the spiritual warfare that takes place all around us. The Bible is crystal clear in proclaiming that there is a battle raging in the heavenlies as the forces of evil continue to wage war against not only the Creator, but also against all who trust in Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord. Islam is just one of the examples of that warfare.

Now, just one, (of many) reasons you can trust the claims of the Bible over other world religions.

The Bible is accurate geographically, historically, and scientifically. For example:
-In one of the oldest books in the Bible, Job said more than 4000 years ago that the earth hangs on nothing (Job 26:7). Scientists didn’t discover that fact until 1650! Hindus believed that the earth rested on the back of an elephant that stood on the back of a turtle that was swimming in a great endless sea.
-The Qur’an, written in the seventh century AD, says that the sun sets in a muddy spring (Surah 18:86). But 1700 years before Muhammad, David said the sun is actually on a circuit “from one end of heaven…to the other end” (Psalm 19:6).

The Bible has been proven accurate in all its claims. In fact, it has been ahead of the scientific world on a lot of discoveries. It isn’t up until recently that the scientific community has begun to understand the scientific principles listed in the Bible. Nothing archaeologically or scientifically has ever proven the Bible wrong. Whenever archaeology or science disagrees with the Bible, further research shows the Bible was accurate.
The same can’t be said about other religious books. Why would you believe something that has been proven false over and over again?
There are a lot of reasons for doubting that any of the versions of the Qur’an are inspired by the Creator of the universe.

-It contradicts known facts of science. For example, it teaches that the sun actually descends down into a muddy spring on the earth (Surah 18:86). You could get away with a statement like that in certain parts of the world in the seventh century. Obviously, today, we know that the sun is actually on a circuit through space and Mecca with its black stone is not the center of the universe.

-The Qur’an contradicts known facts of history. For example, it denies that Jesus of Nazareth was crucified on a cross (Surah 4:157), something that has been substantiated not only by the Bible but also by extra biblical sources, such as the Jewish Talmud and Flavius Josephus. Archaeology is not kind to Islam, which is one reason why Muslims try to destroy ancient artifacts.

There aren’t any good reasons to accept the Qur’an as inspired by God. The most popular evidence that Muslims try to give for the divine inspiration of the Qur’an is its literary beauty, but this is a very questionable means of testing a document for divine inspiration. What would stop us from believing that Shakespeare’s or Dr. Seuss’ writings were also divinely inspired? After examining these things, it would be safe to conclude that the Qur’an is not a divinely inspired book.

I don’t have enough faith for evolution.

I don’t have enough faith for evolution.

Hmmm, has anyone tried pouring a few various amino acids on their keyboard yet to see if they can encourage their Windows 7 to evolve into Windows 8?  You probably should hurry that process up, if at all possible because rumor has it that Windows 8 is about to meet its demise.

Smile, Jesus is Lord

Not everyone can be right

Here are some common things you might hear today;

“All religions lead to the same God.”

“There isn’t one true religion.”

“Every religion is right.”

Really?  Does that sound like good logical, common sense to anyone?  Lets look at these statements a little closer to see if this actually makes sense.

Can truth contradict itself?  No. You read this next paragraph and tell me if you see any contradictions…

Buddhism is pantheistic and says there is no personal God, and everyone can reach “godlikeness” on his own. Islam says that Jesus was just a prophet and not the only way to God. Christianity says that there is a personal God and that the only way to Him is through Jesus (John 14:6).

If these three religions are “all true”, or just “different paths to the same place”, then why do they contradict each other? Does truth contradict itself?

I don’t have, “blind faith.”

A lot of people mistake faith to be a blind belief in something. Something you believe with no reason. This is contrary to what the Bible teaches us. We are to examine ourselves and be knowledgeable about what we believe, and be ready to answer the questions people may have for us.
-The Bible tells us to “examine everything carefully” and to believe only that which is actually true (1 Thessalonians 5:21, Colossians 2:4).
-The Bible commends the people in the city of Berea for verifying that the words spoken by the apostle Paul were actually true (Acts 17:11).
-God desires that we use our minds and not just our hearts (Matthew 22:37). God says, “Come now, and let us reason together” (Isaiah 1:18).
-The Bible exhorts Christians to have answers for people with questions (1 Peter 3:15).
-God desires all people “to come to the knowledge of the truth”…

Now is the Time for all Christ-followers to Wake Up

One of the sad realities within the local church today centers on the fact that numerous born-again Christians have little or no knowledge of the spiritual warfare that takes place all around us. The Bible is crystal clear in proclaiming that there is a battle raging in the heavenlies as the forces of evil continue to wage war against not only the Creator, but also against all who trust in Christ Jesus as Savior and Lord. Islam is just one of the examples of that warfare.

As believers, we may often wonder if there is anything we can do to counter the attacks our spiritual enemy hurls at us. We might even ask, “Can we, as Christian couples and parents, stand in the gap for our marriages, our children, and our homes?” Let me say a resounding, “Yes, we can, and we must stand united in the victory Jesus has secured for us.”

As Genesis 3 shows us, Satan’s desire is not only to destroy our lives, but also to weaken and sever the relationships we hold dear. We might all agree that Adam and Eve were both at fault for their disobedience and rebellion against God’s commandments. But a careful reading of Genesis 3:12 shows that Adam blamed his sin not only on his wife, but also on his Creator by saying to the Lord, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me from the tree, and I ate.”

Without question, Satan is still using the same tactics against our marriages and homes today. He seeks to divide us from our spouses and our children as he plans his strategies to destroy the unity God has designed for us. Just as he was successful in breaking the unity Adam and Eve shared with their Creator, he is still achieving an alarming number of victories in the modern-day Christian home, as the sins of pride and selfishness are often all too prevalent.

I have often talked with numerous people who have had serious questions about the origins of evil and sin in the world. Many may wonder, “How and when, did sin begin?” As the Bible teaches, Satan sinned when he exercised his free will to rebel against his Creator.

Over my years in pastoral ministry, I have encountered far too many believers who lack the knowledge about who they are in Christ. I am completely convinced that unless we acquire a solid biblical understanding of our “in Christ” position, we will be unable to fully counter the attacks of our enemy as he tempts us to exercise our free will and rebel against the commandments of God. As believers, we have a tremendous responsibility to study God’s Word so we can be better able to stand firm with the knowledge and power our Lord has provided for us as we face the devil and his forces of evil.

Without a doubt, it is time that we, as the children of God, woke up and begin living as strong advocates of the cause of Christ Jesus.  May our awareness be so quickened that we will begin recognizing the attacks of the devil when they come our way but not be distracted or deterred by the superfluous stuff.

Would you agree that Satan has been achieving his victories for far too long?  Will you join with me as we literally claim the power of God Holy Spirit against the one who seeks to divide and destroy our marriages, our homes, our churches, and our country?  As the people of God, we can praise our Creator for all His abundant promises as we literally stand in the strength He provides.

2nd Chronicles 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Hello world!

U.S. Supreme Court stated in the 1892 case of Church of the Holy Trinity v. United States, written by Justice David Josiah Brewer (143 U.S. 457-458, 465-471, 36 L ed 226):  ” This is a religious people.

This is historically true. From the discovery of this continent to the present hour, there is a single voice making this affirmation.

The commission to Christopher Columbus…(recited) that

‘it is hoped that by God’s assistance some of the continents and islands in the ocean will be discovered’…

The first colonial grant made to Sir Walter Raleigh in 1584…and the grant authorizing him to enact statutes for the government of the proposed colony provided

‘that they be not against the true Christian faith’…

The first charter of Virginia, granted by King James I in 1606…commenced the grant in these words:

‘…in propagating of Christian Religion to such People as yet live in Darkness…’

Language of similar import may be found in the subsequent charters of that colony…in 1609 and 1611; and the same is true of the various charters granted to the other colonies.

In language more or less emphatic is the establishment of the Christian religion declared to be one of the purposes of the grant.

The celebratedcompact made by the Pilgrims in theMayflower , 1620, recites:

‘Having undertaken for the Glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith…a voyage to plant the first colony in the northern parts of Virginia’…
